Computer Literacy Trainer 

1.Background

Rwanga Foundation is implementing a youth empowerment initiative focused on comprehensive training in areas such as TVET and employability job readiness training that follow with internship program, in addition to entrepreneurship and grant distribution to pilot ideas and acceleration startups, lastly cash for work activity for environmental sustainability. To ensure the successful delivery and sustainability of these programs, a Training of Trainers (TOT) program is envisioned to equip selected individuals with the necessary skills to effectively train and mentor participants.

2. Objectives:

The main objectives of the TOT are:

  • Review the current curriculum for the (Computer Literacy Trainingused by the public technical education and vocational centers.
  • Enhance or create Curriculum for the (Computer Literacy Training) to cover 45 days of Vocational training.
  • Train and equip public trainers with advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Follow up and monitor the public trainer for any support needed to clarify the update curriculum.
  • Provide tools and methodologies for effective community engagement.
  • Enhance understanding of cultural sensitivity and diversity.
  • Build capacity in conflict resolution and negotiation techniques.
  • Foster leadership and decision-making skills among public facilitators.
  • Transfer knowledge and methodologies related to project activities.
  • Enhance public facilitators’ capacity to conduct engaging and interactive training sessions.

3. Duration and Location:

The program is scheduled to take place for 3 days per location (Erbil: Soran, Koya – Sulaimani: Kaniba Quarter, Halabja, and Duhok: Zakho, Amedi)

  • Follow-up will be conducted online or in person as needed for clarification with the new curriculum.
  • The training sessions will be conducted at different venues in the specified locations.

4. Key Responsibilities:

The selected trainers will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Curriculum Development: develop, enhance or create training materials and curriculum that align with the goals of the youth empowerment initiative.
  • Training Delivery: Facilitate interactive and participatory training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques.

Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on exercises to enhance participants' understanding and application of the training content.

  • Follow up: increase the public trainer’s technical knowledge through training and follow up.
  • Capacity Building: Support public trainer in developing their training and facilitation skills. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to enhance the effectiveness of individual trainers.
  • Environmental Sustainability Component: Integrate the environmental sustainability component into the training, emphasizing its importance within the broader context of the youth empowerment initiative.

5. Qualifications:

Trainers should possess the following qualifications:

  • Expertise in Instructional Design: Proficiency in designing and developing effective curriculum content that aligns with learning objectives and instructional methodologies. Holder of a TOT certificate.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: In-depth knowledge and understanding of the subject area(s) for which the curriculum is being developed, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and comprehensiveness of the content.
  • Experience in Training Delivery: Ability to effectively deliver training sessions using diverse instructional techniques, multimedia resources, and interactive activities to accommodate different learning styles and preferences.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

6. Deliverables:

The trainers are expected to produce the following deliverables:

  • Develop, enhance or create the training curriculum and share it with the project coordinator for review.
  • Deliver the ToT for duration of 1 day per location in Kurdish language.
  • Provide Progress reports on participants' performance and engagement to project coordinator.
  • Submit a final evaluation report summarizing the effectiveness of the training.

7. Budget:

Outlining the total cost, including timeline and work plan for the training duration.

  • Transportation: [transportation for trainers]

8. Timeline:

The program is scheduled to commence on Jun 2024 and conclude on 31st Aug 2024. A detailed schedule, including session timings and breaks, will be communicated to participants in advance.

9. Reporting:

The selected trainers will report to the Project coordinator for regular updates, progress report per location measuring the public trainer’s performance, feedback sessions, and final report in addition to the updated curriculum throughout the duration of the TOT program.

10. Application Process:

Interested individuals are invited to submit their applications, including a curriculum vitae and a cover letter outlining their relevant experience, TOT certificates if its available, budget and work plan per government locations are (Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok) , by 2nd Jun 2024. 

Shortlisted candidates will be notified for an interview.

11. Note:

  • This Terms of Reference document is subject to adjustments and amendments based on the evolving needs of the youth empowerment initiative. Any changes will be communicated to the selected trainers in a timely manner.
  • The training and materials should be provided in Kurdish, however the reporting to Rwanga team have to be in English.
  • During submission, please specify your expertise in the aforementioned areas of intervention.
