Position Title: Life Skill Facilitator
Project Title:Next-Gen Empowerment in Duhok Governorate
Location: Duhok Governorate (Duhok center, Sumel and Shekhan).
Project Overview:
The Next-Gen Empowerment in Duhok Governorate initiative is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and supported by UNICEF. It is implemented by Rwanga Foundation in collaboration with the General Directorate of Youth, targeting youth between the ages of 10 and 24 in Duhok, Shekhan, and Sumel. The project aims to empower young people through;
- Establishing three innovation and learning labs
- Delivering life skills training to 600 youth
- Providing grants for small-scale youth-led projects
- Offering internship and on-the-job training opportunities
- Promoting youth advocacy and civic engagement
Objectives:
The Life Skill Facilitator will work closely with the Lead Trainer to support the effective delivery of life skills sessions. This includes logistical coordination, active facilitation, participant support, and basic documentation tasks to make sure an engaging and inclusive learning experience.
Scope of work:
- The facilitator will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Support the lead trainer during training sessions by preparing logistics, distributing materials, and organizing the training space.
- Assist participants during group activities and interactive exercises.
- Ensure a supportive and safe training environment for all participants.
- Help set up and operate training tools and materials.
- Participate in facilitating energizers, group work, and role plays.
- Track and accurately record participants' daily attendance.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing pre- and post-assessment forms.
- Report any field-related challenges or feedback to the project coordinator.
- Contribute to short progress summaries as needed.
- Pre logistics and documentations preparing.

- Education and Certification:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in education, psychology, social sciences, or a related field
- Certification in life skills facilitation or non-formal education is a plus
- Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience delivering life skills or soft skills training
- Experience working with youth and/or vulnerable populations preferred
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong grasp of key life skills topics (e.g., communication, decision-making, emotional intelligence)
- Proficiency in interactive facilitation (group work, discussions, storytelling, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Flexible, empathetic, and culturally responsive
- Fluency in Kurdish required; Arabic and English are considered assets
Duration:
The facilitator is expected to conduct training for 8 groups per location (Duhok, Sumel, Shekhan). Each group will receive 6 days of training, with sessions lasting 3 to 4 hours per day.
